Ensure that you have an Entry Point in place so that users can start conversations with your bot. Main Entry Points include:

1. **Chat launched by new users.** Initiates conversations when a user texts your WhatsApp Business number for the first time. To enable users to reach out to you via WhatsApp, make sure your website includes your WhatsApp phone number.

2. **Bot link.** Starts the conversation from a specific block in your flow. Use links or QR codes to invite users to interact with the bot.

3. **WhatsApp chat button.** Adds a conversation-starting button to your website. Customers can click on it to initiate a conversation in WhatsApp Messenger.

4. **Pop-up.** Incorporates a pop-up window on your website with an image, header, body text, and CTA (call-to-action) button. By clicking the pop-up, customers start a conversation with your business on WhatsApp.

Boost Sales with AI Automation in 15 Minutes

It’s impossible to find an e-commerce online store that is immune to cart abandonment. 7 out of 10 carts abandoned on Shopify are left irrespective of the type of business. Luckily, there are several ways to increase Shopify abandoned cart recovery rates. Read on to get a handful of tweaks that can help you reduce cart abandonment. Any proactive actions toward Shopify abandoned carts save your money, retain customers, and increase sales.

## What is Shopify cart abandonment?

Shopping cart abandonment is a process when shoppers while visiting the Shopify store add items to the cart and then, for some reason, don’t complete their purchase. The reasons for abandoning their carts could be various: complicated checkout pages, high extra costs, unwillingness to share banking private information with the website, no or unsatisfactory return policy, slow delivery, or lack of convenient payment methods.

## What is the average cart abandonment rate?

According to the Shopify statistics, the average cart abandonment rate is around 70%. Based on the recent research provided by [Statista](https://www.statista.com/statistics/991948/what-shoppers-do-after-abandoning-their-cart-united-kingdom-uk/), only less than a third of customers complete the purchase. Moreover, one-fourth of these visitors go to the competitors to buy the same items. Understanding the shoppers’ concerns and reasonings helps businesses work around this problem and stay ahead of competitors.

## How can cart abandonment affect your business?

The recent data provided by Shopify claims that e-commerce businesses lose up to $260 billion if no cart abandonment Shopify strategies are implemented. If there is no proactive strategy to fight cart abandonment, a marketplace, in the long run, might witness lower conversion rates, higher customer acquisition costs, lost customer lifetime value, inventory management issues, and increased retargeting costs.

## 7 ways to reduce shopping cart abandonment on Shopify

### 1\. Use proactive live chats

Live chats are one of the most efficient ways to reduce Shopify cart abandonment. Intelligent AI-powered customer support can help customers with the checkout flow as well as answer questions and provide other types of activities.

### 2\. Send recovering abandoned carts emails

Another means to get customers’ attention and make them return to the shopping on your platform is to remind them to continue shopping. Based on the data from Klaviyo, they managed to generate [$60 million](https://www.klaviyo.com/blog/abandoned-cart-benchmarks) from Shopify abandoned cart email campaigns only.

### 3\. Treat your website data carefully

It’s a good point to turn your weaknesses into your superpowers. Go deeper into your Shopify cart abandonment data: day, month, time, order amount that was abandoned, or what the items are. These small bites of data can help your business build the right strategy and reduce abandoned cart on Shopify.

### 4\. Provide various payment options

Not finding convenient payment options is another reason for Shopify cart abandonment. You can connect multiple payment means to your website or use Shopify Payments to enable facilitated checkout with only one click.

### 5\. Offer free or low-cost shipping

[Based on the research](https://retailwire.com/discussion/consumers-hate-paying-for-shipping-more-than-just-about-anything/), 82% out of 5,400 shoppers surveyed claimed that they prioritize free shipping over speedy deliveries.

### 6\. Send notifications to re-engage customers

These could be encouraging messages kindly asking visitors to continue their online shopping experience on your website. Apply software tools to automate push notifications.

### 7\. Start a loyalty program

One more way to reduce abandoned cart in Shopify is to provide marketplace visitors with discount codes and reward programs. Discounts and referral programs are great ideas but they alone without proactive live chat support, email, or push notifications might not be very effective.

7 Ways to Reduce Shopify Cart Abandonment

For eCommerce businesses, it is not enough just to offer good products to attract buyers and enjoy skyrocketing profits. It is also vital to establish and maintain close communication with clients and allow them to feel that you care about them and about their needs. If you run a Shopify store, a live chat will be an irreplaceable helper for your support team.

## What is a Shopify live chat?

A Shopify live chat app is a tool for communicating with users who reach out to your store. Such chats may come in different types. For customers, they may look like a simple widget or a chatbox. This feature may also be presented in the form of a button that will redirect users to an external app like WhatsApp.

Modern technologies let developers make such chats much more powerful than a simple conversation tool. It can also be enriched with AI and ML functionality for automating interaction with customers and detecting their sentiments.

## How to increase sales: Shopify tricks

Below you can find 15 strategies that have already proven their efficiency.

### 1\. Leverage the power of social media marketing

Promotion of an eCommerce business is closely tied to your activity on social media platforms. Today Instagram is much more than just an app where you show your followers what you have eaten for lunch. It has been transformed into a splendid business tool. The platform is still focused on visual content which you can use to attract the attention of your potential customers. With around 2 billion active users per month, Instagram can allow you to reach absolutely different social and demographic groups.

### 4\. Don’t forget about SEO

In 2024, search engine optimization (SEO) still rocks. It can drive traffic and let you see how to increase Shopify sales without investments in paid ads. With a row of valuable in-built settings, Shopify enables you to create SEO-friendly pages. And we highly recommend you use this chance.

Moreover, if you have a corporate blog, you definitely should use it to invite potential buyers to your Shopify store. In this case, you also shouldn’t forget about relevant keywords and main SEO principles that will allow your content to rank high on Google.

### 5\. Leverage influencer marketing

Today celebrities and popular bloggers have millions of followers on different platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. Collaboration with them costs thousands of dollars. However, their ads do not always bring desired results. And you have another option if you are not ready to allocate huge budgets to such initiatives. You can hire micro-bloggers. Their services are cheaper but they can bring a very high ROI. We highly recommend you consider this strategy especially if you are interested in how to make a sale on Shopify in such niches as food, sports, or beauty.

### 6\. Create cool product pages with photos, videos, and descriptions

While looking for new ways of how to get sales, Shopify stores always need to provide shoppers with sufficient information on their products and their advantages. It is necessary to take appealing photos and videos from different sides and angles. People will have the possibility to see even the smallest details and make sure that the quality of your products fully corresponds to their descriptions. It would be amazing if the text contained not only boring specifications but also a story about your product.

### 7\. Offer free shipping

Maybe you will be surprised to see this advice among the tips on how to make sales on Shopify. However, “free shipping” is a phrase that has a magic impact on a purchase decision. Actually, the majority of online stores just include their expenses on shipping in product costs. But for customers, it is still pleasant to know that their products will be delivered for “free”. You can offer a free shipping option not for all orders but only for those that exceed a certain amount. Quite often this approach works as an incentive for customers to buy more in order to get such a bonus.

### 8\. How to make sales: Shopify cross-selling and upselling tactics

Every person who wants to know how to increase sales on Shopify should consider these two tactics: upsells and cross-sells. Cross-selling presupposes encouraging customers to buy complementary products. And upselling is focused on convincing people to upgrade their purchases. It can be done with the help of dropdown menu sections on product pages and various suggestion widgets.

### 9\. Introduce referral and loyalty programs

Customer loyalty programs are an integral part of word-of-mouth marketing. You need to transform your customers into your brand ambassadors. And their opinions quite often will have a more persuasive power than any paid ads. Moreover, special rewards and bonuses for making purchases or inviting friends will also help to increase customer retention.

### 10\. Don’t underestimate the value of UGC

User-generated content (UGC) plays a vital role in your business growth today. What can it be? For example, reviews written by your loyal customers, photos, and videos on Instagram that show how people use or wear your products in real life. Such things greatly help to create social trust in your brand. You can encourage buyers to create and post such content by offering them discount codes and other pleasant bonuses.

### 11\. Optimize your Shopify store for mobile platforms

To boost sales Shopify stores should go mobile. There are so many online shops today that people have no reason to use inconvenient or slow ones. Today a lot of people prefer to use their mobile devices to look for different products and place orders. And you should bear it in mind. A modern online store should look and feel good not only on PCs and laptops but also on different mobile devices.

### 12\. How to boost Shopify sales with wishlists

Quite often when people are surfing the net, they are not ready to make purchases at once. They are just looking through different offers (some kind of online window shopping) without any specific goal. But what if they decide to place an order later? Where can they find your store? To address this issue, you can provide people with an option to add products to their wishlists. This will also let them subscribe to your email updates and stay in contact with you to make purchases later when it is comfortable for them.

### 13\. Minimize cart abandonment

Today the card abandonment rate is close to 70%. Just imagine, that in 7 out of 10 cases, customers just drop off during the shopping process. But you can try to change the game by introducing retargeting ads and reminder emails. Moreover, it is vital to make the checkout process straightforward. It will help you to be sure that people do not leave your checkout page without paying just because they can’t understand how to do it.

### 14\. Shopify: boost sales with an out-of-stock waitlist

It’s very sad when you lose customers because the products that they like are out of stock. Of course, you can just put an Out-of-stock tag on the product and hope that a person will return later. But it is not the best decision. You can offer users to fill in the form and indicate their email addresses so that you can notify them when the product is available again.

### 15\. Don’t forget about SMS marketing

Somebody may say that it is a very old-fashioned approach but it still works. The open rates of SMS are surprisingly high. On average, it is close to 98% across different age groups. Studies demonstrated that conversion rates generated by SMS are 10-15 times higher than by email marketing campaigns. So, if you are wondering how to get more sales on Shopify, just try to launch an SMS campaign!

## Instead of a closing word

While trying to understand how to get sales Shopify stores shouldn’t implement all the available marketing strategies at once. Moreover, not all of them are universal. To make a decision on whether you need to try out this or that approach, you should consider its efficiency in relation to your products and your target audience.

AI agents are ready-to-use employees designed to help you boost sales and rapidly expand teams. They are not your typical bots—agents can fulfill complete roles instead of just automating functions.

Each agent performs specific business roles:

1. **First-line support agent**

2. **SDR for lead qualification**

3. **E-commerce sales associate**

4. **Pre-sales manager for the education sector**

Consider AI agents as your junior employees who, if trained properly, can become your top performers. To train an agent, provide it with the context of your business and clients.

Product update: meet AI agents

In 2022, Chatfuel was among the first chatbot platforms to integrate with ChatGPT. Since then, you have created thousands of AI chatbots for various tasks. Through analyzing your usage of these bots, we have identified areas where AI excels and where it falls short. Most importantly, we have gained insights into the scenarios where you can maximize the benefits of AI for your businesses.

With this knowledge in mind, we have developed four AI agents. Now, instead of just automating specific functions with chatbots, you can outsource entire roles to AI agents. They will provide maximum value to businesses that actively use messengers for selling and communicating with customers, but they can also be adapted to other use cases.

Read on to learn what is an AI agent and how you can use them to boost your business.

## AI agents explained

An AI agent is an autonomous AI system that can automate entire roles from start to finish. It can serve as an extension of your current team, capable of performing numerous tasks with minimal human intervention, or as a \*\*\*\*whole AI sales department. Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant are popular examples of intelligent agents in AI. While they are typically used by individuals, the introduction of specialized agents tailored for business purposes is revolutionizing the landscape.

With AI agents, businesses can grow quickly by efficiently handling more customer queries, suggesting products based on customer preferences, and providing proactive support.

### How does an AI agent work?

These are the general steps that an AI agent takes to achieve a goal.

When you input your goal, the AI agent starts the goal initialization process. It sends your prompt to the core large language model and receives the first output, indicating its understanding of the task.

Next, the agent creates a set of tasks and prioritizes their execution depending on the goal. Once it determines a feasible plan, it begins searching for information.

Using a computer like humans do, AI agent gathers information from the internet. Some agents can connect with other AI models to delegate tasks and access features for processing geographical data or computer vision.

As tasks are completed, the agent assesses its progress. For this, it gathers feedback from external sources and its internal monologue. The agent keeps iterating, creating more tasks, gathering information and feedback, until it achieves the goal.

The agent stores and manages all the data so that it can relay it back to you when needed. It also uses the data to improve its performance over time.

### Why employ AI agents?

- **Easy access to AI-driven automation**

Messengers are one of the most effective channels for e-commerce businesses. However, building efficient chatbots can often be challenging. With Chatfuel agents, you can instantly incorporate AI into your operations and easily scale your business.

- **Immediate boost to productivity**

Hiring and onboarding new employees takes time, creating a gap between recognizing the need to strengthen the team and actually doing it. Hiring an AI agent, you get a new employee in a few clicks, ready to perform from day one.

- **Cutting costs**

AI agents don’t require salary, insurance, paid vacations, or sick leave. They can work round the clock, seven days a week, without breaks, vacations, or days off.

## Meet your full-fledged AI sales department

Four out-of-the-box AI agents are now at your disposal. Each is tailored for specific use cases and handles multiple tasks, ultimately delivering the desired outcome.

You can add them to your existing flows or build new ones. Depending on your needs, you can use a specific agent or mix a few in different combinations. The best part is that you can get your AI agents up and running in a matter of minutes. No need for writing prompts, simply fill in the necessary information, and you're good to go.

Think of these agents as your junior AI employees who can become your top performers with proper training and fine-tuning. To teach them effectively, provide them with the context of your business and clients.

So, meet your autonomous AI sales department.

### 1\. First-line support agent

This AI support agent answers frequently asked questions in a human-like manner. It understands inquiries and provides helpful responses and can handle questions about products, orders, shipping, and returns. You can also train your AI support agent to handle basic troubleshooting and technical support queries.

### 2\. SDR for lead qualification

An SDR (sales development representative) agent efficiently identifies and prioritizes potential leads. It analyzes incoming leads based on specified parameters to assess their suitability for further engagement. The agent then filters out irrelevant leads and qualifies the target ones to transfer them to your sales team. With this AI agent, your sales team can focus on leads with the highest potential, increasing the efficiency of their sales pipeline.

### 3\. E-commerce sales associate

This agent assists customers throughout the entire order process, from selecting products to completing payments. It can recommend relevant items based on customer preferences and previous interactions, as well as promote special offers. Employ an AI sales associate agent to drive upselling and cross-selling.

### 4\. Pre-sales manager

This agent is made for education businesses to help potential leads schedule meetings with sales managers.
